Bathroom FAIL

Fury, fury, fury is me.I thought I had new Bathroom sorted. Was dreading whole thing, but thought oit was done deal. But not fffffng fitter has come in with prices that no way match the estimate. The extra money is not really the problem. The fact that I can't feel I trust him IS. I don't want him in my house for two weeks. I don't want him having a key. I don't like that he thinks I am a woman on my own and that he can take the piss. Cos that is very much what it feels like.
I don't want this.
I need to sort a solution.
And am FURIOUS with myself that I let myself be drawn in this far without being more cynical.,
THAT will teach me to think the best of people.
Better by far, or at least more real to think the worst.
Cynical? Me? Hell yes.

  1. I don't think it is because your a woman.
It happens to my husband, everytime he get jobs done on the car it's estimated say, €300, then when the job's done it's €470 (labour and VAT or something). He usually manages to get €20 or something off, but it's not fair, you're stuck once the job's done.
Pity you can't tell him you'll leave the bathroom for now...

  2. Can't you find a new fitter - did he come via the supplier? They won't want to lose a sale. Tell them you did not like the fitter, or his quote, and ask them to recommend someone else. Tell them if they can't find someone more reasonable you will take your money elsewhere. I doubt buyers are so plentiful they will be happy to see you go. Alternatively ring round some plumbers and find one of your own. Any decent plumber can fit a bathroom suite and tile.

Have you got it sorted? I hate people trying to con me or messing me about - it makes me VERY angry!
