Things That go Ouchy in the Night

I want to bed last night in perfectly reasonable condition and woke up this morning with a pulled muscle in my groin which makes it difficult to put weight on my right leg, and what feels like a dislocated toe on the foot of my other leg. Since I was sleeping alone, I can only put these injuries down to busy dream activity, but I don't remember any dreams at all. I am falling apart! How on earth can I have injured myself in my sleep?
I hate it when my body feels unreliable, which seems to be all to much of the time these days.

  1. Oh you poor thing. I hope it clears up quickly. It must have been some dream!! Apart from bruises (which I acquire unknowingly when awake too)the most common sleep injury I get is a stiff neck, though I am not sure how I do that either.

  2. This may sound weird, but I am so glad that I'm not the only one who wakes up with injuries! I have always assumed that it was something that I did to myself during the day and the bruise or muscle pull or whatever only came out during the night. But I think you may be right: it may be rather vigorous actions caused my particularly vigorous dreams. Gives new meaning to the expression "sweet dreams", doesn't it?

  3. Oh surely it is just an injury that you did the previous day? I often wake up with strange pains but I can generally relate them back to something that happened the day before. Except cricked necks of course - those are definitely pillow injuries. Nasty things pillows!

    Hope it is better today?
